Dolly Parton says lesbian rumors are not true… Again

Dolly Parton has long been a gay icon.

In 2005 she caught the wrath of the “Christian Right“ when she joined Mandy Moore, the Dixie Chicks, Yoko Ono, Christina Aguilera, Emmylou Harris, Pink and Carole King in making a CD called “Love Rocks”, to raise money for the Gay and Lesbian advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign.

For years now I have been reading that Dolly Parton has an on going lesbian relationship with her personal assistant, Judy Ogle.

Late last month, in an effort to clear this up, she told Larry King: “I am not gay. I have been accused of that. But I have been happily married for 42 years to the same man. And he’s not the least bit, you know, threatened by the fact that I may be gay.”

Last week the 63 year old Dolly took another shot at it when an interviewer for AARP magazine asked the country music legend one more time if she and Ms. Ogle are actually lesbian lovers.
