    Another Great passes into eternity.
Nearly all the greats of her generation are gone. The great generation of acting when one went to the theater to see the star not the movie. No sound effects. No visual effects. No sex. No violence. Just good acting. And no major scandles because they kept their secrets rather than displaying them with some kind of misguided pride.
    A great loss.

Thank you Shelly K. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Bea Arthur was like a friend to me. She found her way into my home many nights in my lifetime, from Mame, (when I was a wee boy)to Maude, to the Golden Girls. Her sharp wit and comedy will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Great Lady.

Wow…..I remember watching “Maude” as a kid…..always loved this woman….just something about her. (Which, apparently, other’s have appreciated too.)

On “Maude”, she wore a long, button-down sweater, with pockets down low…..she wore it open. It became a fashion-fad….(like we didn’t have enough of those in the 70′s!) My Mom’s sister, Jackie, started wearing one all of the time. For as long as I can remember, we called her “Aunt Maude”. When she passed away a few years ago, that’s what I had tattooed on my “memorial” arm…..”Aunt Maude”.

Both she and Bea will long be remembered, fondly and with admiration….everytime I look at my arm.

Rest in peace, Bea…..and thanks for the laughs. I’ll miss you.

    Shelly K.
