Self-confessed mobster comes out in court

A confessed gunman for the Gambino crime family, who is also a government informer, added a surprise personal disclosure to his guilty plea on Monday in a Brooklyn, N.Y., courtroom. Robert Mormando told the court he was gay in the hopes of getting a lesser sentence because he alleged his status as a formerly closeted mob member could further endanger his life.
