Anti-gays Eye Repeal of Marriage Equality in New HampshireNov 6th, 2009 | one responsePosted by OIA Staff in NewsThe recent victory of bigots in Maine has cause some anti-gay lawmakers in New Hampshire to consider a repeal of that state’s marriage equality law, which was signed by Governor John Lynch in June. Your statement that “virtually everyone in the House and Senate who voted for marriage equality will stick with us” reminds one of the way Jews must have felt while being sent to the gas chambers. “Surely those in power will come to their senses and do right by us,” they thought. Yes, some in society are more accepting of the rights of gays today than in years past. However, don’t be misled– there are an abundance of people out there who would gladly exterminate us if given the opportunity. And speaking of repeal: how is it that our personal liberties are subject to popular vote anyways? After granting gays the right of marriage, how can some take this away? What next?– will some idiots decide to take voting rights away from, say, all blacks and women? Can another group of morons decide to reinstate slavery??? This is preposterous, and must stop immediately!
