Archdiocese Decides Not To Pull Charities Out Of DC After Marriage Equality VoteDec 17th, 2009 | no responsesPosted by OIA Staff in NewsThe Roman Catholic Church in Washington, DC blinked. Rather than following through with their threat to pull their charities out of DC following the vote to grant equality in marriage to the LGBT Community. While the Church continues to whine about the supposed redefinition of marriage, the reality is that offering other things instead of marriage, the institution of marriage is redefined instead. The Catholic Church stood to loose millions in city contracts to provide resources to the community should the have failed to continue to provide services, and breaching their contract would have resulted in the city being able to sue them.
