Utah Senator Orrin Hatch “Open” To Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal, And Then He Isn’t

Talking to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell yesterday, Senator Orrin Hatch made it clear that he was open to repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. He stated that there were “outstanding patriotic gay people who serve in the military and who should be given credit for it” and that they should not be forced to lie about their service. While Senator Hatch is reluctant to state whether or not he is absolutely for repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell right away, he did indicate that he wanted to wait until the military’s review of the policy had been completed.
