NY Senate Votes to Expel Anti-Gay Sen. Hiram Monserrate

Citing his misdemeanor conviction assault on his girlfriend, the New York state senate has voted to expel Hiram Monserrate , by an overwhelming majority.Senators voted 53 to 8, with one abstention, to remove Monserrate effective immediately.
