But I also see that it's not meant to be genitalia; if it was, it would be incrtedibly enormous and attched in the wrong place! In any event, it makes no sense to get too worked up over it. It's historically just about certain that Christ was crucified naked; that gravity-defying cloth on crucifixes is a bow to public attitudes and good taste. The cruelty of public punishment at the time included humiliation as well as pain, and nakedness in that society was absolutely humiliating. I see why people are confused.
